American Stock Exchange Lists Common Stock of Taseko Mines Limited

NEW YORK, Oct. 4 -- The American Stock Exchange(R) (Amex(R)) today listed the common stock of Taseko Mines Limited under the ticker symbol "TGB".

Taseko Mines Limited is a mineral exploration and mining company with projects in British Columbia, Canada. The Company is primarily focused on copper production from its Gibraltar Mine and exploration of gold and copper at its Prosperity and Harmony Properties.

"The American Stock Exchange is the premier exchange for gold and mining companies and we are pleased to welcome Taseko Mines to this growing segment," said John McGonegal, Senior Vice President of the Amex Equities Group. "We look forward to working with them in building increased investor awareness and visibility within the investment community."

"The Board of Directors and Management of Taseko are pleased to have secured a listing on Amex, as it will provide many interested investors in the United States with greater transparency about the activities of the Company as well as more convenience and readily accessible trading opportunities," said Taseko President and CEO, Ronald Thiessen. "This is timely, as the Company is currently re-establishing copper production at the Gibraltar mine, commencing in October 2004."
